During my teenage years and early adulthood, I slept 7–9 hours a day, and good sleep was something sacred to me. I never understood people who stayed up all night to study, earn extra money, or party. And although I probably achieved less in life because of that, I don’t regret it because health is the most important thing and it can’t be replaced.
Czech and Slovak share certain features with South Slavic languages from an early stage of their development, dating back to the period when the Slavs were moving southward into Europe and also settling in Pannonia. However, in the Middle Ages, Germans and Hungarians formed a wedge between the Slavic populations, which caused Czech and Slovak to continue their further development together only with the West Slavic languages.
At the Paris Peace Conference in 1919, there was a proposal to create a corridor in the Burgenland area that would physically reconnect the Slavs, but in the end the idea was not implemented. A little historical fun fact.

Learning languages isn’t as fast as it seems. When I created my account here 10 years ago, I had big plans, and I’ve only achieved about 20% of them. I think it’s important to be consistent and to use time wisely
Being pragmatic, I should probably focus on English, German and French. But I’m attracted to niche languages like Hungarian, Romanian, Macedonian or Latvian. And of course I’d love to get into some Oriental languages too, but there are only 24 hours in a day
