Blake! I've arrived in Beijing- this place is awesome!
I agree with you about the exchange of ideas. I can't wait to learn more Mandarin so I can communicate with people. I'm very interested to learn from the Chinese :)
Feel free to add me on WeChat, my ID is: SkankingDevil

Hope to hear from you soon!

Yeah, I think Beijing would be incredibly different from any American city I've been to. I guess I'm expecting it to be really crowded, and a little unfriendly. It's said that Chinese will do ANYTHING for friends and family, but if you are a stranger, they probably won't help at all. I feel like the more I learn about the Chinese culture, language, and history, the more friendly people will be. I love talking walks, so I imagine I'll be taking even more once I arrive in Beijing!
Yeah, I love teaching language! If I had my way I would teach Spanish, but since I'm not a native speaker, it probably makes more sense for me to teach English. I actually had a student from a city in Yunnan province- she said it was absolutely beautiful! She's going back home next year, I may take a trip down South to visit.
I'd really love to see Nanjing, I hear it's the capital of the South. More than anything, I'd like to see Western China! Cities are cool, but my hometown is a small city of 6,000 people in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness, so those rural areas attract me. Have you traveled anywhere else in China?
Have a good one,
Brandon

Absolutely! It's always nice to meet new people, especially when you're new in town.
I'm really excited to see Beijing. I've never been to such a big city- it's definitely going to be something different from my home village for sure! What are your favorite things to do in the city?
Why do you think you wouldn't be a good teacher? Having taught in Malaysia, I imagine you'd just get better and better! Where else have you traveled?
All the best,
Brandon

Yeah yeah for sure I'll help with your English! I've been learning Spanish for about as long as you've been learning English. I'm training to become an English teacher, and I'm teaching in Beijing this Fall. I think I'm moving there in November, but the Visa is so hard to figure out! I'm excited, and ready to see what China is all about.
What about you? Have you traveled? Where would you want to go?

That's interesting that you're learning to be a teacher. Are you going to teach Chinese once you graduate? Will you teach foreigners, or other Chinese? How long have you been learning English? Some of the words you're using are really natural sounding!
Hey Blake! What's up, man?
How are you? My name is Brandon- just wanted to say "hello!" So you live in Beijing? That's really cool. I'm moving there in October to teach English and I'm really excited. I was a language student at my university, too. I studied Spanish and Russian. (A few years of German, and a tiny bit of Italian and Arabic too.) So you teach Chinese? That's awesome! I'm learning putonghua, but it's a little slow.
Anyway, good to meet you and hope to hear back from you soon!

Hey Blake - yes :). Nice to meet you to. How are you? :)
Yes, I don't have any problem with that my Blake.
Hope you're doing good.
