Let me introduce Ada Falcón, tango singer from the 20s and 30s. She was one of the most succesful singers of the time, a tango diva, but then when she discovered her lover (who was no less than Francisco Canaro) cheated on her with her own sister, she decided to leave her fame and all the showbusiness behind, and went to settle in a convent, where she died in 2002, aged 96 and quite unknown.
Pretty soap opera-ish, huh? :P
